The name game...
Thinking of publishing a newsletter? You should be. It's a great way to
inform your customers of your products and services, as well as provide
them with information that may help their business succeed. The name that
you choose for your company's newsletter is critical to how well readers
will receive it. It should be creative and expressive; it definitely should
not include the word "newsletter." Here's a list to consider when
choosing a name: Accents, Advisory, Advocate, Alert, Almanac, Briefs, Bulletin,
Connection, Digest, Dimensions, Eye, Examiner, Facts, Forecast, Forum, Gram,
Guide, Highlights, Hotline, Insider, Journal, Keynote, Monthly, News, Notes,
Outlook, Report, Review, Times, Topics, Update, Views, Voice, Weekly, World.
Presenting?...
People retain 20% of what they see, 20% of what they hear, 50% of what they
see and hear, 85% of what they become involved in. If you wish them to make
a purchase, 79% will if you use visual aids, but only 58% will if you don't.
Reasons: the brain takes in information at 500 words per minute. People
speak at 140 words per minute. Visual aids prevent boredom from setting
in.
Environment friendly...
Kimberly-Clark Corporation has recently updated their Environment paper
line to include 50% sugar cane (bagasse) in two of the fiber chip colors.
This alternative papermaking fiber is relatively new to the industry. Kudos
to Kimberly-Clark for taking a little more heat off of one of our most beautiful
natural resources.
Quote of the month...
"True friendship is like sound health, the value of it is seldom
known until it be lost." Charles Caleb Colton
