Print To Disk In Windows


These instructions will work with most Windows programs.

  1. Install Postscript Printer driver, if not installed already. Follow instructions found in your PC manual.
  2. Print a copy of your document on the printer. This will be used as a reference by the quick printer.
  3. Check the manual for you application for any special instructions. The Print To Disk option may be found in your Print dialogue box. The followinf steps will work with most applications.
  4. Click on Printer Setup under the File section of your menu bar.
  5. In Printer Setup, select the Postscript on FILE: Go to Setup.
  6. The Setup window will show that the Postscript printer is selected. Select the proper orientation and the number of copies. Select Options.
  7. In the Options window, select Printer under Print To.
  8. Click OK until you return to the document.
  9. Under File, select Print. The Printer selectected should be Postscript Printer on File.
  10. Click OK. The Print To File dialogue box will appear. It will ask you to give the file an Output File Name.
  11. Name the file including the file extension .PS. While naming the file, you can choose to place the file in the directory on onto a disk.
  12. Click OK. The Postscript file will print to disk.
